Firm History

The story of the law firm now known as Plymale Partnership is one rooted in experience, transformation, and an enduring commitment to justice for individuals and families in Ohio. What began as a partnership between two seasoned attorneys has grown into a respected and resilient law practice with a reputation for integrity, aggressive advocacy, and client-first service.

Ron Plymale

The firm’s modern history began in 2009 when Ronald E. Plymale, a veteran trial lawyer in central Ohio, returned to active legal practice and joined forces with attorney M. Shawn Dingus to form Plymale & Dingus, LLC. Their shared vision was clear: to provide accessible, tenacious legal representation with a personal touch—particularly for those facing life-changing injuries. Under their leadership, the firm grew steadily anddeveloped a strong presence throughout Columbus and surrounding communities.

Shawn Dingus

Shawn Dingus brought not only courtroom experience but also a unique understanding of both prosecution and defense work. A graduate of Morehead State University and the University of Akron School of Law, Shawn Dingus began his legal career as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Morrow County. He had previously worked at the earlier iteration of the Plymale law firm as an associate in the early 2000s, where he gained experience in civil litigation and trial advocacy. In 2003, he opened his own solo practice before co-founding Plymale & Dingus in 2009. As managing member, Shawn Dingus helped guide the firm into a new era, focusing on personal injury, premises liability (slip & fall injuries), and wrongful death claims. Known for his steady leadership and thoughtful, strategic legal mind, Shawn Dingus became a trusted advisor to clients and colleagues alike.

In 2011, the firm welcomed Michael R. Guluzian, who began his tenure as a law clerk while attending Capital University Law School. After graduating cum laude and earning the Order of the Curia, he joined the firm as an associate attorney and quickly became an essential part of its litigation team. Michael Guluzian has focused his career on representing victims of negligence, including families who have lost loved ones in fatal accidents, individuals suffering from catastrophic injuries, and people who have been wrongfully denied compensation by insurance companies. He has earned a reputation for his strong advocacy, sound judgment, and a fierce commitment to protecting his clients’ interests. Over more than a decade with the firm, he has become a central figure in its operations and a leader in its continued growth.

The firm faced a major transition following the passing of Ronald Plymale in 2020, a respected figure whose name and legacy had long been associated with excellence in the courtroom. Then, in 2025, the firm marked another turning point when Shawn Dingus was elected to serve as a judge on the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals, bringing his years of legal experience and commitment to justice to the appellate bench. In the wake of these changes, the firm restructured under a new name—Plymale Partnership—honoring its foundational legacy while signaling a new generation of leadership and service. The name reflects both continuity and evolution: a tribute to the principles upon which the firm was founded, and a commitment to carrying those values forward in a changing legal landscape.

Today, Plymale Partnership continues to fight for victims and their families across Ohio. Whether representing a family in a wrongful death claim, pursuing justice for someone paralyzed in a truck crash, or holding insurers accountable in bad faith disputes, the attorneys at Plymale Partnership bring compassion, skill, and strength to every case. The firm stands as a powerful advocate for the injured—and a lasting legacy of the values it was founded on.
